Daniel Castelo Guerrero was born on September 6th, 1984 in Quito, Ecuador. He obtained his Law Degree at San Francisco de Quito University in 2008.
During his undergraduate studies, Daniel did several internships in Ecuadorian law firms and in the public sector. This last internship was at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in the area of investment protection.
After graduating from the University Daniel worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Integration of Ecuador in the area of investment protection and promotion. Here, Daniel participated in various national and international groups related to investment treaties and promotion. As part of one of these groups Daniel worked in the drafting of a new bilateral investment treaty (BIT) model for Ecuador. In addition, Daniel participated in the organization of an important international forum for investment negotiators from developing countries.
In the last two years Daniel worked in an important Law Firm of Ecuador. His main area of practice was competion law although other areas of practice included Intellectual Property, Contract and Insurance law. As a part of the law firm's competition team Daniel was able to participate in the first competition cases held in Ecuador.
On 2011 Daniel obtained a specialization diploma in Administrative Law from Simon Bolivar Andean University.
