Ozlem Canbeldek graduated from the Faculty of Law at Ankara University - an institution that ranks among the top Law Schools in Turkey. Throughout these years, she was trained in the foundational aspects of law and legal practice. Following her graduation from college, Mrs. Canbeldek began her one-year legal internship in a law bureau, Alatas & Yuksel Law Office in Ankara, where she gained considerable experience in commercial law and economic law. During her internship there, while gaining noteworthy insights and experience, she also realized the vast importance of the international approach to both of these fields in particular, and to the legal practice, in general. Hence, after her internship, she enrolled in the "Legal Studies in European & Commercial Law" program at the Bournemouth International Business School (BBSI), in England.

Her six-month stay in the UK was useful in several aspects. At the end of her stay, Ozlem took the International Legal English Certificate (ILEC) Exam, and successfully passed it. Besides, the courses she took in the field of European and Commercial Law, and passed with "distinction", expanded her professional and intellectual horizon and helped her to draw her future path towards commerce, economy and related practices of law.

After her UK experience, she returned to my hometown, Izmir, Turkey, and enrolled in the "Masters' Program in Economic Law" at Dokuz Eylul University. Meanwhile, she started working in a small-sized law firm in Izmir, which was primarily specialized in the Civil and Criminal Law. After six months of her employment, she exclusively concentrated on my job at the office and worked with cases, which were not frequently handled before my employment in there. Since then, she has been focusing mainly on 1) Commercial Law, 2) Competition Law, 3) Intellectual Property Law, 4) Mergers and Acquisitions cases, and 5) Labor Law. As a part of her work, she have conducted extensive legal researches in compliance with the current laws and legislations prior to drafting petitions, drafted legal brief notes and petitions to be submitted to the court, and analyzed various aspects of commercial law, competition law, intellectual property law and civil procedures and various other agreements.

During her position, Mrs. Canbeldek had the opportunity to work on several cases of companies and individual clients from various countries, such as Germany and Holland, who demanded legal advice for their commerce-related affairs in Turkey. Furthermore, she has dealt with international cases of different sorts, such as the legal advisory to Turkish companies conducting business in other countries. In June 2008, for instance, she was involved into a major project in which a construction company from Izmir participated to a public tender in Qatar.

In addition to her involvement in commerce related law activities on the professional level, Mrs. Canbeldek's been advancing her academic comprehension of the field. Now, she considers furthering her existing legal knowledge through studying the LLM program at IELPO, as a necessary and crucial next step in her personal and professional development that will lead to a career through which she could make a tangible difference in how international economic law and policy is interpreted and implemented in Turkey, a country on the doorsteps of European Union.
