IELPO LECTURERS WERE PRESENT AT THE WTO PUBLIC FORUM

Several IELPO lecturers attended the WTO Public Forum held in Geneva on October 4-5, 2007. Dr. Simon Evenett participated in the session devoted to the single undertaking and the coherence of the global trading system. Dr. Ramon Torrent , director of the IELPO programme, and Dr. Patrick Low, member of IELPO faculty and director of the Economic Research and Statistics Divison at the WTO Secretariat discussed about the need of a Global Academic Network in the current trading scenario. The rapid development of FTAs was the subject matter of the session in which Dr. Bernard Hoekman, Mr. Gaspar Frontini and Dr. Simon Evenett participated. For their part, Ms. Merit Janow and Mr. Joel Trachtman took part in the panel dealing with the WTO Dispute Settlement.
