Biography


Dr. Galina Zukova is Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, where she is leading Central and Eastern Europe case management team and Associate Professor at the Riga Graduate School of Law. Dr. Zukova has particular experience in international trade and dispute resolution. Her doctorate in law, from the European University Institute in Florence, was on the subject of free trade in goods between the European Union and its prospective new members, and she has taught on international economic law and dispute settlement at the Riga Graduate School of Law and the University of Latvia. Her previous work experience includes the European Integration Bureau in Latvia, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the law firm Raidla Lejins and Norcous. She was a Scholar-in-Residence at the International Arbitration group of WilmerHale (London office) and a Visiting Scholar at the Yale University, Yale Centre for International and Area Studies, where she worked on International Investment Law and International Commercial Arbitration.

Her areas of expertise include WTO Law, EU Law, EU External Relations, EU Enlargement, Regional integration and International arbitration
